The Wound Is Where the Light Enters

Like all of us, I’ve had my own experience with suffering, much of it beginning in childhood. Coping with a neurological condition, school bullying, painful family dynamics, and physiological challenges led me on a lifelong journey of finding peace within chaos. Those experiences shaped who I am and how I understand resilience, compassion, and healing. Today, they continue to influence how I show up for the people I have the privilege of working with.

Naturally, I became someone deeply guided by feeling, sensitivity, and intuition. Through that journey I developed a rich relationship with myself, one that continues to shape both my life and my work. I believe healing begins with curiosity, self-awareness, and the courage to explore the parts of ourselves that often remain unseen. As Rumi wrote, “You are the fruit, as well as the tree it grows on.”

I Walk Beside You, Not Ahead of You

I like to challenge the idea that I possess something you’re missing. We are both human, and I believe it’s important to acknowledge my own fallibility from the beginning of our therapeutic relationship.

I’m not here as someone more enlightened. I’m here as someone walking beside you as you become more conscious, more empowered, and more connected to yourself.

When you share the parts of yourself you often disown, or imagine others will find unworthy, I don’t think “What is wrong with this person.” I think, “What is their deeper need and how can they become conscious of it?” More than anything, I wonder how that quality lives in me too.

Beyond the Therapy Room

Outside of my practice, I enjoy staying connected to creativity and curiosity. I’m definitely a jokester, and laughter has always been one of life’s greatest medicines. I enjoy writing Rumi-inspired poetry, exploring improvisation and sketch comedy, learning the Iranian Tar, traveling whenever possible, and finding joy in simple moments such as walking barefoot or sharing unexpected acts of kindness.

These experiences continue to remind me that healing isn’t confined to the therapy room. It exists in connection, creativity, playfulness, and everyday life.

MY PHILOSOPHY

Integrative. Balanced. Messy. Human.

Every person carries a unique story, and every story deserves its own approach. Rather than following a rigid formula, I draw from a variety of psychological traditions while adapting therapy to the individual sitting in front of me.

You are not a diagnosis, and you are certainly not a machine. Together we’ll explore the unique constellation of experiences, relationships, symbols, emotions, and patterns that have shaped your life.

Creating a Space Where You Can Be Fully Yourself

My first responsibility is creating a space where you feel genuinely safe. Many clients tell me they appreciate the warmth and tenderness I bring into the room because it allows them to speak openly without fear of judgment. Together, we’ll create an environment where you feel heard, understood, accepted, and supported as you explore your experiences at your own pace.

When you share the parts of yourself you’ve hidden away, I don’t wonder what’s wrong with you. Instead, I’m curious about your deeper needs and how greater awareness can help you move toward healing. My hope is that this process allows you to develop greater self-compassion, clarity, and a stronger connection with yourself.

A Depth-Oriented Approach

My work is heavily influenced by psychodynamic and Jungian psychology. Together we’ll explore the unconscious patterns shaping your life, your dreams, your early relationships, your body, and the symbolic language of your inner world.

Unconscious Patterns

Explore dreams, symbols, and hidden patterns that quietly shape your choices, relationships, emotions, and daily life.

Body Awareness

Your body holds memories and emotions. Together, we'll learn to understand its signals with greater awareness, care, compassion, curiosity, and presence.

Early Experiences

Childhood experiences shape how you relate, communicate, and protect yourself. Awareness creates lasting emotional growth.

Shadow Work

Facing the parts of yourself you've denied or hidden leads to greater self-compassion, authenticity, and a deeper sense of inner peace.

Honest, Direct, and Compassionate

Therapy isn’t about avoiding discomfort. It’s about creating enough safety to face it together. I combine warmth with honesty, offering support while gently challenging the patterns that may be keeping you stuck.

I also believe therapy should remain creative and deeply human. Sometimes that means sitting quietly together. Sometimes it means going for a walk. Whatever helps us meet the moment with authenticity is welcome.
